Since the pallet duck house build was a success, we decided to move our egg slaves into the yard this winter and build them a simple coop. the one thing missing in my opinion in a lot of pallet builds is insulating and outside finishes. so here is our version of a pallet chicken coop.. Add another full pallet to the back of the coop, and screw it to the base. i then found a scrap piece of wood and laid it on the floor for a solid bottom for the coop. step 2: cut a couple of pallets down (these were roughly in half) to make the sides and screw them to the back pallet and the base.. Our first chicken coop was functional, but left a lot to be desired. we learned a lot from our first little coop, and we put what we learned into our second, bigger pallet chicken coop. things we learned from the first coop, make a coop big enough to walk in, roosters are big, need a bigger door, and always plan you coop to get even more chickens..
