Since the pallet duck house build was a success, we decided to move our egg slaves into the yard this winter and build them a simple coop. the one thing missing in my opinion in a lot of pallet builds is insulating and outside finishes. so here is our version of a pallet chicken coop.. Then add two additional pieces of wood to either side of the pallet walls. then use wood to build a door frame in the middle. fill in the gaps in the door frame with chicken wire. then you can actually build a coop door if you have any excess wood. we framed a door with excess wood we had left and then used chicken wire to fill in the middle.. I added a piece of pallet wood in between the center 2×4 and the corner 4×4 and screwed the bars to the pallet wood. most of the chickens still sleep on the tree that is right next to the coop but some have moved in..
